OH MY GOD!!!

I couldn't decide between this and THPS3, so I got 'em both. JSRF is *amazing*. When you look at the movies on Gamespot, they look cool, but it's just not the same. I was seriously worried about suck potential because the point of the game is so lame ... I mean, skate around an Anime city spraying graffiti to stick it to the man? Puhleez.

But it's actually really well designed. The control scheme is nice & simple, but the moves are plenty complex, and the situations they put your characters in are outrageous! And the graphics ...

Playing this is just like injecting yourself in an Anime movie. It's that good. The detail is incredible. The soundtrack has got some really nice trippy high-energy techno, too. No external soundtrack support, unfortunately (I guess they figure 20 or so original songs is enough ... and it's a lot, but I like my chill out music ;-)

The only complaint I have about the game is some of the Japanglish translations ;-) Minor, minor issue though.

If you have an Xbox, you *must* at least rent this game. You may end up buying it like I did!

Tell me about it; this game is awesome. I'm about 11 hours into it and it keeps getting better and better. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll leave it at that.

Tony Hawk 3 is also incredibly fun. It looks like a direct PS2 port to me, but at least it has an extra Xbox-only level and skater.

Both games were definitely worth the money.
